Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzales-Collins, who is the Mexican American reporter. She works as an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation occasionally. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bi-lingual since the age of nine years old, a valuable skill that helped her secure her first position as a production assistant at Univision in Miami which gave her the opportunity to work alongside producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. It was the CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as a sports reporter. In 2009 she moved from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In reporting on news stories related to drug trafficking and immigration both along the Texas as well as the Mexico border, she worked as a news reporter for Fox2 News, which is a Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision and Fox2 News. The anchor also acted as a fill-in anchors for sports and weather. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was appointed to more duties. She was a reporter for the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason and finals FC Dallas as well. The Univision 23 channel also had her own local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. Then, she became the sports host on the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. Also, she was an anchor on sports for Primer Impacto, a magazine show that was broadcast on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved into Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She's more mature than her younger sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico in search of the US and was settled in Miami. In 1992, her parents split following which, in the year 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was the engineer for naval vessels who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. The couple remained there in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, in which she was offered a job. Antonietta, a high-school senior with a plan of what she wanted her life to be, decided to visit Mount Union University to determine whether it was a good fit for her. It turned out that she was a fan of the university and they were offering the major she was looking for. After graduation, she enrolled at the University as a media studies major. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor for WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was an affiliate. Mark's passion for journalism and confidence in herself inspired her. She in turn strived to exceed his expectations and never disappoint him.
